Thomas L. Spraggs, KC

Thomas L. Spraggs, KC took over Spraggs Law from his father in 2005. Since then, Tom has led the firm through significant growth.

With over 20 years of experience, Tom is a senior litigator with a focus on personal injury and harassment litigation.  In Tom’s personal injury practice, he works with a large team of experienced lawyers, investigators and claims managers to get justice for injured people.  Tom has a tireless work ethic and extensive trial experience, including jury trials, to help obtain the settlements and court awards that his clients deserve.

Tom’s practice is also focussed on harassment litigation with an emphasis in sports. As a former competitive swimmer, Tom understands the issues that face athletes in sport from bullying, physical, sexual, or emotional harassment and abuse of power.

Tom was elected as a Bencher of the Law Society for 2020 and serves on various committees and task forces. The Benchers establish the Law Society Rules, the Code of Professional Conduct for British Columbia and board policies, including governance policies.

Tom has a passion for technology to improve access to legal justice.  In 2013, he co-founded a technology-based platform that enables clients to have access to legal advice online.  Tom has applied innovative approaches to practice management and a progressive approach to technology to lead Spraggs Law to become the highly respected and award-winning firm that it is today.  In 2016, Spraggs was awarded the “Innovative Workplace Award” by the Canadian Bar Association recognizing the innovation in rethinking the model of legal services.
